The door is often the weakest point of a quiet room: a light door leaf and the gaps around it let noise straight through. Instead of replacing the door, you can add mass to it. Our door panels attach directly to the door with self-adhesive Velcro or a metal bracket, and our door blankets hang in front of it. NovaSilence and FrontSilence contain a 3 mm layer of mass loaded vinyl (MLV) and reduce noise by 22 to 45 dB depending on the frequency.
On interior doors that are opened now and then, a fabric surface works well. On front and entrance doors, which are used all the time, we recommend the faux leather of FrontSilence – fabric can be pulled or scratched by daily use.
Noise travels wherever air travels. Cover the whole door leaf with the panel and close the gap under the door as well – that is where most of the remaining noise gets in. Step-by-step tips are in our article how to soundproof a door.
For draughts and heat loss at the front door, see our thermal door curtains; for noise through windows, our soundproof curtains.

“Wonderful solution, besides the acoustic treatment advantage of it, I can barely hear anything from the other side of the door.”
– Ovidiu, Romania (DNC door blanket)
How much noise does a door panel stop?
NovaSilence and FrontSilence with mass loaded vinyl: 22 dB at low, 30 dB at mid and 45 dB at high frequencies. How much you will hear in practice also depends on the gaps around the door, so close the gap under the door too.
How is the panel attached?
With the sewn-on Velcro strip and its self-adhesive counterpart on the door; NovaSilence can also be mounted with a metal bracket.
