Understanding acoustic curtains

Acoustic curtains, also known as noise barriers, are designed to absorb, dampen and block unwanted noise. They are made from high density materials and excel at absorbing sound waves, effectively reducing noise levels. Thanks to their adaptability, acoustic curtains can be used in different parts of your home to improve its acoustic performance.

Practical tips for using acoustic curtains

  1. Choose acoustic curtains with the right thickness and material to suit your specific needs.
  2. Ensure proper installation to eliminate gaps and openings through which sound can penetrate.
  3. For even better soundproofing results, consider combining acoustic curtains with other soundproofing techniques.

On the top side you will find 12mm grommets spaced at approximately 15cm intervals. Hooks and rings for garnish up to 25mm diameter included.

Can the curtains be joined? Yes, they can be fastened together with 5 cm wide Velcro fasteners, which we offer at an additional cost.

MASS AND DENSITY OF THE MATERIAL

The effectiveness of ACOUSTIC CURTAINS is closely related to their mass and density. Heavier and denser materials are more successful in blocking and absorbing sound. When sound waves encounter a dense material such as that used in ACOUSTIC CURTAINS, a significant portion of the energy is dissipated and prevented from passing through the curtain and into the room. While conventional blackout curtains typically weigh 200-300 g/m2, our SonicVoid acustic curtains come in two versions, one weighing 1300 g/m2 and the other 2600 g/m2!!! This is almost five times the weight compared to a standard curtain, even in the lighter variant. This "weight advantage" provides both excellent acoustic properties and soundproofing capabilities! And leaving aside the acoustic aspect, even though they are not marketed as blackout curtains, their blackout capabilities will logically be MUCH better than traditional blackout curtains.

Do you want to not only make the room soundproof, but also have beautifully coloured curtains?  The back remains black, the front has a choice of several colours. Women in particular will appreciate the old pink and red. Even a light cream is nice. Men stick more to grey, black and brown.

Take a look at the photos below the product.

Fit:

On the top you will find high quality 40mm grommets in nickel colour at approximately 20cm intervals, so you can hang the hangers on a hanging bar up to 35mm diameter.

Replaces the original hinges

The deNoise PRO1550 soundproofing curtains do not work by letting absolutely no sound through and shutting out all noise, but they work by "absorbing sound" so that a large amount of noise is already absorbed when it enters the room and then they have the secondary effect of preventing sound from reflecting in the room for a long time, making them both soundproofing curtains and acoustic curtains.

WEIGHT AND DENSITY OF THE FABRIC

The deNoise PRO 1550 VB2GO soundproof curtains can create a strong noise barrier due to their huge weight of 1550 g/m2, which is why many of our customers use them as curtains to create a barrier against outside noise by putting our soundproof curtains in place of their existing curtains. They reduce noise by 15 dB.
